Our business is one of relationships and connection.  Successful advisors do lots of things well to help their customers achieve their goals.  Helping people starts with people being to find you.  How easy are you to find?

If your name is entered into a search engine does your contact information appear?  If your name, phone number, e-mail address and physical address do not appear for free you need to make some changes.  Type in your name to see what appears.  Your contact information should appear on the first page.  If nothing comes up type in your name and the words "investments" ,"wealth planning", or the city in which you are located.  If you do not show up in any of these options you are in trouble and you need to improve your web presence.

Due to the regulated nature of our business there are restrictions on how and what you can say but you need to have at least a minimal web presence.  People need to be able to contact you if they have lost your contact information.  More often than not when I enter a name one of the first entries that pop up is the LinkedIn profile.  At a minimum you should have a LinkedIn account with your phone number and e mail address.
